Central Area Housing Patios
A 1:200 scale model of housing, probably in Central Milton Keynes. The model shows the exterior of rows of terraced housing, separated by footpaths. There are roads on each side of the model with outside parking covered by a clear perspex roof. There are trees between the houses and the roads on all four sides of the model.
In the centre of the model there is more housing of identical design, surrounded by the previously mentioned housing and accessible only by pedestrians.
The houses themselves lack detail but appear to be one storey dwellings with an interior courtyard, surrounded on three sides by the house and on one side by an exterior wall. They have L shaped rear gardens with a rear entrance onto the footpath. A small number of houses in the middle of the terraces are of a different design, lack courtyards and have a small square back garden.
There are cars throughout the model, both parked and in motion.
"Central Area Housing" referred to seven grid squares surrounding Central Milton Keynes: Bradwell Common, Conniburrow, Downs Barn, Oldbrook, Fishermead, Springfield and Downhead Park. The development shown in this model may have been intended for any of the above estates.
Location: Not built.
