Solar roof - Bradwell
Colour transparency showing the experimental solar house on Harrowden, Bradville. Exterior view of the rear gardens of a row of mono-pitched terraced houses. The gardens are separated by fences with grey posts and washing can be seen hanging on lines. The doors and windows of the houses are white and the middle house has solar panels fitted to the roof.
The Milton Keynes Development Corporation worked with Steven Szokolay and the Built Environment Research Group at the Central London Polytechnic (now the University of Westminster) to develop a system to utilise solar radiation for hot water and central heating. It was tested in 3 Harrowden, Bradville, where costs and benefits were examined over a number of years.
