[Tinkers Bridge]
An unlabelled model which is probably an exterior design for Marshworth, Tinkers Bridge in Milton Keynes. The model shows a view of Tinkers Bridge as a whole, with the Grand Union Canal and H9 Groveway shown on two sides of the model. Cars, lorries, trees and a canal boat are present. While the road layout (later altered) of Tinkers Bridge is shown, the only houses shown are the single storey semi detached residential properties in Marshworth, as built; other houses are marked by blank squares. The houses were designed by the Milton Keynes Development Corporation as private houses for sale. They are single-storey, semi-detached, with flat roofs. They were constructed using cavity white flint-lime bricks. Timber roof with Purldek insulative decking and three layer felt with white spar chipping finish. Concrete floors, plaster finish to walls and ceilings. The total cost was £7,370 for 24 dwellings (£307 per dwelling). A density of 4.8 dwellings per hectare.
There is a T shaped marking in one corner - may have been a compass.

I am pretty sure my family moved from S. London into our four bed house on Congreve, Tinkers bridge, at the end of december 1972, I was 11, while the rest of the estate was still under construction.
